About Christina Peressini
THE DESIGNER
I have been working as a freelance graphic designer in Vancouver, BC Canada since 2001 and I subscribe to the theory and practice that less is definitely more.
What gives me passion for design is knowing that it can have an extremely powerful influence on the way people think and the decisions they ultimately make. In a world that bombards us daily with messages and calls to action, it's important that my work has meaning. I don't choose clients with a frivolous message and they, in turn, don't choose me. I strive to minimize the clutter and maximize the impact.
The most meaningful work is born out of a true collaboration with clients. Mutual respect of each other's expertise, knowledge, and role in a project yields undeniable bang-on results. It's these collaborations that are almost magical and a complete joy.
Keeping the 'print' part of design as environmentally-friendly as possible is one of my special interests. To this end I can suggest earth-friendly options to eco-conscious clients.

THE REST OF ME
Despite having a strong digital component to my life and work, I will always have a foot firmly in the analog world as evidenced by my love of activities such as reading books made of paper, not pixels, and writing letters that get posted, not emailed.
'Less-is-more' is also true of the way I live my life.
I continually strive for balance and simplicity in a world of diversions, disposability, and excess. I find it by making decisions that are as gentle on the earth as possible. I also find balance in the company of my four-legged friend who teaches me everyday to chase like it's your last squirrel, beg like it's your last meal and sleep like it's your last night on earth. |
